BIO

The Laurettes are a fiery 5-piece all-female Scottish band turning heads with their powerful fusion of Indie Folk and Celtic Rock.
Known for their high-energy performances and unstoppable stage presence, they’ve become festival favourites across the UK lighting up main stages at Belladrum, HebCelt, Tiree Music Festival, Shrewsbury Folk Festival and many more.
Following the success of their debut album ‘Meet Me at the Mainstage’ recorded at ‘Wee Studio’ in Stornoway, they’ve regularly supported major acts such as Jess Glynne, Peat & Diesel, and Skerryvore, earning a reputation for electric live shows that get the audience singing, dancing, and geein’ it laldy!
Their album tells a tale of The Laurettes’ musical journey so far — blending feel-good party anthems with powerful songs of female strength and solidarity. From ‘Bombay Sapphire shoutouts’ to ‘Guinness’ toasts after their Guinness Six Nations performances, it’s a high-energy celebration of friendship, freedom, and fierce femininity.
Regular performers at New York Tartan Week, The Laurettes bring their infectious spirit and Scottish flair to audiences far and wide. From the roaring chants of “Heave Ho, Techno Viking” to the euphoric energy of the “Dopamine” Dance, their feel-good anthems and crowd-loving charm make them one of the UK’s most exciting emerging live acts.
The Laurettes have made been nominated for the 2024 and 2025 Folk and Traditional Artist of the year at The Scottish Live Music awards and have been no strangers to TV and Radio, ‘Bringing in The Bells’ on STV’s Hogmanay show, an appearance on ‘What’s on Scotland ‘, and regular airplay on BBC Radio Scotland and Go Radio.
The Ginger Quiff Review
- 'THE LAURETTES CERTAINLY HAVE FIRE IN THEIR BELLIES!'

Their demand, their vociferous appetite for playing live, and the fact that they are genuinely living their best lives..
Finally reaching the end of festival season at the weekend, Lauren and Lynette were taking some time out, probably no more than a day or two, or even an hour or two, I should wager, to stop and breathe after a summer that saw them playing across every inch of these shores.
There you have it, a band that never stops, living in the moment, for the moment and loving life. What’s not to love?

What about that single Witches then?
The Laurettes certainly have a fire in their bellies, a flame ignited by indignant rage at the outrageously cruel and unjust trials that resulted in the lubricious death of countless innocent women. As The Laurettes said in their interview, they have a voice, and they’re damned well going to use it. Their incensed frustration is portrayed in the vigorously spirited performance of Witches. “Hell has no fury like a woman scorned” they sing as they curse the accusers “set fire to the jury, we witches never burn”. The drums bring the musical thunder as the divine harmonies, fiddle and acoustic guitar blended with subtle electric riffs CHANNEL FLEETWOOD MAKE TAKES ON THE DEVIL WENT DOWN TO GEORGIA. If this is an indication of what we can expect from the album, then we’re in for a treat.

North Berwick
Wow. We are on cloud nine after this gig in North Berwick. We always walk away in complete awe of the Peat & Diesel Crowds but this gig hit different, it's one we won't forget! The energy in this room felt like fireworks and we're so grateful to be given the opportunity to play infant of so many wonderfully bonkers like minded party people.

Thank you to everyone for making this crazy journey possible! Especially to the one & only..our good pals, Peat & Diesel.

Barrowlands
What a buzz at the barras! An incredible honour to be invited up onstage for P&D's last few songs & encore. It made complete sense for us to fire on our boiler suits & heels for the occasion and give it (in true boydie fashion) .. absolute LALDY for the masses.
